After stretching the silk, the batik cold wax can be applied with a brush, sponge or similar. Where the wax is applied to the silk, the silk will remain white or in the background color. Surplus wax can be removed with paper when the wax is dry by ironing on the “cotton setting” as for iron-fix paints. The paper should be placed between the fabric and the iron. If using steam fixed paints, the colors should
be fixed before the wax is removed.
